Following the current Headteacher’s decision to retire, the Governing Body offers an outstanding opportunity for a leader to ensure a strong Catholic ethos, committed to securing both excellent academic outcomes and to developing individuals to their full potential.

We require a Headteacher who is a practising Catholic, who can articulate a vision of success for the school and have a presence in the wider community. You will be an innovative, forward thinking educationalist ready to build on your successes. You will focus on high achievement for all and be committed to overcoming disadvantage, recognising talent and inspiring staff to take the school to outstanding. A natural and visible leader, you will have an inclusive approach to partnership working, at every level.

Based in West Yorkshire, Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School is a mainstream secondary school for girls and boys aged between 11 and 16. It is a voluntary aided establishment. Its denomination is Roman Catholic. It is based in the town of Meanwood in Leeds. At present, there are currently approximately 918 students enrolled at the school.

Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School values religious studies. Children are encouraged to demonstrate their talents and develop new skills by following the rules of Christianity. Therefore, Religious Education is one of the most valued subjects at the school. Their aim is to respect others and make the world a better place to live in. Worshiping Christ is valued and pupils’ achievement is celebrated by all. Students should also be tolerant of people from all backgrounds of life.

The proportion of students across all year groups making more than the progress expected of them is rising as a result of good teaching. The school’s work to keep children safe is outstanding. The school is a harmonious community where students from different backgrounds get on well together, and are respectful of each other and of adults. Students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is well promoted.”
