About Baring Primary School

A place to enjoy learning and have fun!

Baring Primary School is a small, friendly school, which serves a relatively small area immediately adjacent to the school.  It is a one-form entry primary school and nursery , taking up to 30 pupils in each year group. From September 2017, there will be an additional ‘bulge’ class in Reception.

The children and parents of Baring reflect the diverse local population. They come from many different countries and speak over 25 different languages. This helps to make it a special place where we all value our similarities and differences and learn from each other.

Located close to the South Circular Road, the school consists of a mixture of old and new buildings. The traditional Victorian school building was substantially altered in the early 1980s and a new frontage built, consisting of a hall, offices and our Computing Suite. In recent years we have also had two new classrooms built which have greatly improved our space. The school stands in grounds which we are in the process of improving substantially.

The curriculum at Baring is enhanced with many trips and visitors for all year groups.  We aim to use public transport as much as possible and encourage parents to be an active part of these learning experiences.  The school has a committed staff which works hard to enable the pupils in its care to achieve high standards. The Governing Body is active and forward-thinking and parental involvement is highly valued.
