Job overview

Due to the forthcoming retirement of our Headteacher, Mrs Anne Daniels, after a long and successful association with Carleton House Preparatory School, the Governors warmly invite applications for the vacant post.

Carleton House is one of the country’s leading prep schools. Our school motto ‘They can because they think they can’ reflects the aspirations and achievements of every child who comes to us. We are an inclusive Catholic school committed to our faith, welcoming all denominations of girls and boys aged 3-11. We consistently rank highly in the Sunday Times Parent Power League Table of Top Preparatory Schools in the UK.

Our talented and experienced staff work closely with our pupils and parents to ensure the highest quality education as evidenced in our consistently outstanding results in both national and entrance examinations. A rich academic and pastoral curriculum with a strong emphasis on creativity and love of learning produces well rounded, articulate and confident young people.

The successful candidate will have a gift for inspiring, leading, motivating and supporting others. He or she will have a proven track record, flair, vision, strong leadership and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead a dedicated staff and very enthusiastic children, as well as engage with our parents, who place great importance on education, and work with a supportive governing body.

The Headteacher will aim to build on the significant achievements to date and continue to deliver the best of outcomes for all pupils academically and in their personal development.

It is an exciting challenge, enormously fulfilling and hugely rewarding for the right person. Applicants must be practising Roman Catholics. A faith reference will be required along with the successful completion of child protection screening checks appropriate for the post.

Visits to the school are welcomed and can be arranged by contacting Mrs Lynsey Hunter, Business Manager.

Interested applicants are invited to email the application form to lynsey.hunter@carletonhouse.co.uk

Applicants are encouraged to view the school website.

Deadline for receipt of applications is 12 midday Thursday 1st December.
Shortlisting will take place on the 8th December.
Interviews will take place on the 12th and 13th of January 2017.
