Following the retirement of Sir Paul Grant in August 2017 after many years of distinguished service, the Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational individual to lead our school through its next challenging phase of development.  Robert Clack School is a large, successful mixed comprehensive school situated in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

The new Headteacher will bring exceptional leadership to the challenge of balancing operational tasks with strategic priorities as the school embarks on a major expansion programme.  Robert Clack School has consistently achieved excellent academic results whilst providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities.  

We are looking for someone who can bring fresh insight, boundless energy and excellent interpersonal skills to this exciting role in a truly comprehensive school.  He/She will lead by example with high professional standards and will motivate, and empower our teachers to continue to provide the best possible education for our students.

Robert Clack School is located in the Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is named after Alderman Robert Clack, who served as Mayor of the Borough of Dagenham, as it was then known, between 1940 – 1942.  He was a champion for social justice and equal opportunity.  He worked tirelessly to advance the cause of the people of Dagenham and had great faith in them.  At Robert Clack School, we have faith in our pupils and believe that they have the potential to be as successful as pupils anywhere in the country.  The values by which Alderman Clack lived his life are the values that permeate the daily ethos of the school, the values of mutual respect, compassion, discipline, high expectations and aspirations, and hard work.

In September 2021, our Primary School opened and we became an all-through school. We are continuing to expand each academic year until our Primary School is full from Reception to Year 6.
