Desborough College, a boys school and a proud member of Pioneer Educational Trust, is seeking an exceptional Headteacher to lead the College into its next phase of development. We are seeking to appoint a Headteacher with the vision, credibility and emotional intelligence to inspire confidence across the whole community. This role will suit an experienced senior leader who is motivate by service and impact. You will be an outstanding communicator, skilled in working with governors, trust leaders and external partners, and confident in leading a school within a collaborative and aspirational multi-academy trust. About Desborough College
Desborough College is a thriving and rapidly growing secondary school for boys, with a co-educational Sixth Form. We have a strong and inclusive ethos and high expectations in terms of behaviour and attainment for all. Our school is situated a short walk from Maidenhead train station with good links to London and Reading. It is situated in Maidenhead in Berkshire, and there are 889 students in total.

Desborough College’s crest reads “Strenuis Ardua Cedunt”, which translates as “Difficulties Yield to Diligence”. The school values single-sex education and believes that this provides a learning environment in which boys can thrive and excel.
The secondary school has links with Radley College, another boys’ school. This partnership offers the students of Desborough College unique opportunities to participate in activities with Radley’s staff and students, including joint lectures, sports coaching sessions and other extra-curricular activities.
Desborough College has four houses, promoting a healthy competitive edge between each house. The school endeavours to ensure each individual completes their school life with courage, respect, a good sense of fun, honesty, integrity and humility.

“Students are happy in the college and say they feel safe and enjoy lessons. Their behaviour is consistently good and they are always willing to work together in lessons. Their enjoyment of school is supported by high attendance figures. Teachers have made good and rapid progress in raising standards across all year groups. Teaching is good overall and there is some that is outstanding in mathematics, drama and art.”
