Job overview

Governors are willing to consider the flexibility available within the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document 2019.

The Governors of St. Margaret’s are seeking to appoint an inspirational and capable Headteacher to lead our larger than average primary school.

During recent years St Margaret’s has grown into a 3-form entry primary school, with in excess of 650 children on roll from nursery to year 6. It is a happy school, established through whole school routines and practices, that enable all staff and pupils to achieve their best as individuals, and as part of this large school community.

The school governors invite applications from those who can demonstrate, with examples, and with evidence of impact, their personal contribution to the following:

  1. Has the ability to lead and drive improvements through strategic planning and effective financial management.
  2. Effective deployment of senior leadership and all staff, enabling pupils to maximise their school experience.
  3. Cultivate a balance between academic excellence and a thoroughly rounded educational experience for all.
  4. Promote, extend and celebrate the highly valued inclusive ethos of the school.
  5. Tracking of pupil progress. Understanding of the challenges this presents for individual pupils and whole school analysis and provision for improvement.
  6. Deep knowledge and understanding of the national agenda for education, facilitated to schools by the new Ofsted framework (2019), and through the Annual Ofsted Report (2020).
