Job overview

Links Primary School is seeking to appoint a new Headteacher from September 2017, due to the retirement of our current Headteacher. We are looking for an ambitious, passionate and exceptional leader, who can inspire colleagues and pupils to achieve their highest standards. Ofsted (September 2016) states that Links continues to be a good school.  Links Primary School is a popular, multi-cultural, two form entry school situated on the borders of Merton and Wandsworth and enjoys good transport links.   Staff and Governors have very strong aspirations for our children, who come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and we are committed to providing a creative curriculum with exciting experiences. Our children love learning and the school wants to offer them every opportunity to flourish.  We are proud to hold the Gold Artsmark, Gold Sportsmark, Silver Travelplan award, Bronze Healthy Schools London award and the International School Award as well as being a partnership school with Kingston University.  In our new Headteacher we are looking for someone who –

• has the necessary drive and ambition to build upon our school’s strengths and move the school forward on the next stage of our exciting journey

• is an inspirational leader with high expectations and a proven track record of improving outcomes for all children

• has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate all stakeholders to raise standards

• has extensive experience of primary education and of working in culturally diverse, inner city school communities

• is passionate about children’s academic and holistic learning.

We can offer:

• happy, confident and enthusiastic children

• a supportive, skilful and proactive Governing Board who will work in partnership with you

• a strong, cohesive and committed staff team • a community school with strong links to local schools and a supportive Local Authority

• excellent transport links and easy access to all that London has to offer

• a school that ‘continues to be good’ – Ofsted September 2016.

Links Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check.   If you think you have what it takes to be part of our school, we would love to hear from you. Visits to our school from potential applicants are encouraged during the week beginning Monday 23rd January 2017; you will be warmly welcomed. Please telephone Michelle Tindall on 020 8769 4587 or email office@links.merton.sch.uk
