Head of Dame Allan's Junior School and Nursery

We wish to appoint a dynamic professional to continue the excellent work carried out by the retiring Head in developing one of the leading junior schools in the region.

The co-educational junior school currently caters for over 300 pupils aged 3-11 and is situated in its own grounds in a state-of-the-art modern building, purpose-built in 2012. It is part of the Dame Allan’s Foundation and the Head is responsible to the Principal of Dame Allan’s Schools for the running of the Junior School.

The School successfully passed an Independent Schools’ inspection in March 2017.

The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, the ability to inspire and motivate and the vision, ambition and drive to lead the Junior School both pastorally and academically.

Dame Allan’s Schools, established in 1705, is the only independent school in the north east to serve boys and girls from 3-18. Our Diamond Structure means pupils receive the academic benefits of single-sex education, with the social advantages of co-education.

We are consistently in the top schools for academic performance in the North East. Alongside our stellar academic record, we offer a varied co-curricular programme of over 200 clubs! We pride ourselves on industry-leading pastoral care, including our wellbeing area, The Snug, which offers a private environment for pupils to receive support from pastoral staff, plus our popular therapy dog.
