Job overview

Sprowston Community Academy

The Trustees and Governors of Sprowston Community Academy are seeking to employ an exceptional Headteacher who has the skills and ambition to lead this growing Academy which is increasing to a 10-form entry school.  Candidates should ideally have proven experience of working with a 6th Form provision.

This excellent opportunity has arisen due to the current Headteacher’s decision to retire from this position at the end of the Summer Term 2018.  The Academy has recently joined the Rightforsuccess Trust and is embarking on an exciting new chapter in its development and the successful candidate will play an instrumental part in this.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate an ability to continue to raise standards and achievement and to develop closer links with parents, the neighbourhood and the local business community in order to raise aspirations and create increased opportunities for our students. Candidates should be outstanding practitioners with excellent interpersonal skills, who are enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated professionals.

The Academy is part of the Norwich Teaching School Alliance and therefore there will be many opportunities for further professional development.

We offer:

  • A school that is committed to ensuring that every child succeeds
  • A passionate, driven and successful school where you will feel well supported in your role
  • A robust induction process
  • Individualised professional development and career enhancement opportunities
  • The support of an experienced Senior Leadership Team and supportive Trust network

For further information about Sprowston Community Academy please visit the website http://www.sprowstonhigh.school/.

Visits to the Academy are strongly recommended and will provide an opportunity to meet the Acting Head Ms Liz Wood and see first-hand our Academy in action.

To arrange a visit to the Academy and to request an application pack please contact the HR Office at recruitment@rightforsuccess.co.uk or on 01603 937130.

Closing Date: 11th July 2018 at 9am
Interview Dates: 16th and 17th July 2018

This Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore successful candidates will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations. Applicants must be prepared to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and attend a Warner Interview. Right to Work in the UK will need to be established. We are an equal opportunities employer.
