Our active and motivated governing body is seeking a new Headteacher for September 2017 who can appreciate the special ethos that has developed here and who can lead and share our vision going forward as the educational and political landscape evolves.
The new Headteacher will need to be a committed educationalist who will place the children's welfare and education as their top priority. However, this individual also needs to be outward looking, astute and be able to operate effectively to ensure that Aldborough Primary School is in the best possible position within the local and national framework of school re-organisation. You will need a big personality, tons of energy and a sensitivity that will ensure that you can not only lead but also work closely beside our dedicated staff group, who include some of the best teachers in the county.
You must be an inspiration to the children and be able to guide others to seek out and develop their qualities and potential. We encourage a pragmatic view on schemed work, testing and evaluation whilst ensuring we are always able to demonstrate and deliver real measurable progress for all the children in our school.
Set in a beautiful village in North Norfolk, Aldborough Primary is an integral part of the community. It supports and is supported by its local citizens as well as being a strong member of a co-operative trust of other local primary schools and high school. Our current Headteacher is the Chair of the cooperative cluster trust and, as a governing body, we place much weight and importance on being a leading member of this cluster and its future place within a changing environment.
With just under 140 children on roll, our parents and helpers are engaged and supportive and commit copious time and energy to the school both in the classroom and as fundraisers for additional equipment and trips and visits. This is a partnership which underlies the ethos of the school, and one which we treasure. The school has extensive rural grounds which the children and parents are encouraged to use and respect. The fabulous setting alongside excellent teaching and learning enables Aldborough Primary to offer educational and holistic growth for children aged 5-11 years over 5 class bases.
We are looking for a Headteacher who is:
- brave and inspirational
- organised and rigorous
- approachable and empathetic
- energetic and creative
- resilient and flexible
At Aldborough Primary School you will have the opportunity to:
- lead a forward thinking school with a special ethos
- work with children who have an enormous enthusiasm for learning

- work with a supportive, committed and experienced governing body
- inherit a sound financial position
- lead a school in a beautiful setting with excellent facilities
- support the continuation of a dynamic and creative education for our children
- work collaboratively within an established co-operative trust of local primary schools and high school

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We welcome applications for employment from all sections of the community. It is a fundamental principle of our policies that all people are equally valued regardless of their gender, age, disability, race, ethnic origin, language, religion or sexual orientation.
