Job overview
Hackness and Wykeham Church Schools Federation
Learning, living and growing in God’s World.
This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding Headteacher to lead, shape and further develop a federation of two Church of England (VC) primary schools. You’ll be working alongside a committed team of staff and a governing body that is ambitious for the schools, with high aspirations for all pupils and staff.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, resilient and experienced professional, who is able to effectively motivate and inspire our children, staff and stakeholders. This will include looking at new and innovative ideas to further enhance our improvement plan, further develop middle leadership across the federation, continue to raise standards across both schools and effectively manage finances.
Hackness and Wykeham CofE Schools are both rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED. Maintaining their unique identities while delivering the benefits of federation is important to us and the local communities. Both have buzzing, happy and welcoming environments, where pupil behaviour models our values. We have excellent links with our local churches and village communities.
Each school has a catchment area covering several small villages with some pupils travelling from Scarborough and beyond. The area is an amazing place to live and work, situated between the forests, moors and coast of eastern North Yorkshire with easy access to nearby urban facilities.
Christian values are at the core of everything we do and our vision is for ‘learning, living and growing in God’s World together’. Building on a solid foundation you will strengthen the current team, explore new opportunities and develop new partnerships, ensuring delivery of first class, distinctive primary education that is sustainable for the long term.
You will lead a committed and loyal staff and will receive strong support from the governors, Diocese, Local Authority Advisers, Scarborough Teaching Alliance and Esk Valley Teaching Alliance.
