Job overview

Thomas Hinderwell Primary Academy is a happy, welcoming and vibrant school, with a strong ethos of enabling each of our children to achieve their full potential through high quality teaching and learning. Located on the outskirts of Scarborough, we offer a world-class education for children aged 3-11, with dedicated nursery and early years provision on a well-equipped site.

Real strides are being made in teaching and learning, but we are not complacent, and know there is more we can achieve for our children. Our motivated and high-quality staff are committed to building on recent rapid improvement and we are looking for an inspiring and ambitious Headteacher to lead the whole school community to a stronger future.

As our new Headteacher, you will bring a compelling blend of professional ability, focus and ambition for the school. With an inclusive, visible, leadership style and a determination to deliver a world-class education.  You’ll engage teachers, children, parents and carers alike in your vision for their learning. We’re particularly interested in your approach to raising and extending overall achievement for students and building a culture of sustained and focused collaboration that produces exceptional outcomes.

You will bring an understanding of how to ensure that we continue to gain and retain the confidence and commitment of parents to their child’s learning journey. Your positive and reflective focus on classroom practice will embed better teaching, learning and assessment throughout the school, building children’s own aspirations, as well as ours on their behalf.

About You
