The Forest School provides an exciting and challenging learning environment for around 100 pupils aged 3-16 yrs who need our commitment, dedication and expertise because of their complex disabilities and special educational needs. The Forest School is a generic special school for pupils with a range of Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Complex medical needs. All pupils have an Education Health and Care Plan.

We use small class groups with highly skilled staff to meet the needs of our children and ensure that they have every opportunity to make outstanding progress academically, personally and socially in a total communication environment.

One of our pupils is adamant that our next Headteacher should have passion and a hobby outside of school, but we have decided that following “The Great British Bake off” or “Strictly” is not essential!
