Job overview

‘Together We Achieve the Extraordinary’

At Mill Hill Community Primary School we are very proud of our achievements. Currently rated as ‘good’ we are constantly striving to improve and our next goal is to become ‘outstanding.’

Located at the heart of North Yorkshire County’s market town, Northallerton, our school is set in attractive surroundings, near to the Yorkshire dales and Yorkshire Moors, with excellent road and rail transport links.

Our school has a caring ethos, where pupils are the centre of their own learning and where they feel safe. We have adopted a mentoring system which guarantees a regular, one to one dialogue between each child and their mentor. As such our pupils are working towards ‘Going for Green’ with their Achievement, Attendance and Attitudes.

Mill Hill Primary School benefits from very good relationships with parents and the local authority is supportive, hands on and plays an active role in the school’s development.

Our governors are seeking to appoint a committed and experienced leader with a remit to further shape our improvement plan whilst continuing to raise standards.

Able to effectively motivate inspire and influence pupils, staff and stakeholders, you will assume responsibility for all aspects of school life. This will include directing the school’s strategic planning, leading the development of the curriculum and delivering an outstanding provision which meets the needs of all our young people. You will also explore collaborative options and opportunities, to further developing partnership working both within and outside of education and raise the profile of the school within the community.

To succeed, you must be a resilient, strategic leader with the presence and ability to actively set and achieve challenging goals and set high expectations for all involved. As an excellent communicator, you must also be able to influence stakeholders, particularly in the area of collaboration.

In return, we can offer you high quality support and the opportunity to take our school from good to outstanding.
