TimePlan Education are recruiting for a Headteacher on behalf of The Clare School in Norfolk. The Headteacher role is a permanent post to start in January 2020. If, due to your current notice period, you are unable to start until April 2020 then please still apply as the school can wait for the right candidate. 

The Clare School is a Specialist Physical and Sensory Complex Needs School that caters for students aged 3 to 19 years of age. The majority of pupils also have a range of complex medical needs. The aim of the school is to ensure that all pupils have access to an appropriate curriculum and support package that caters for their individual needs. Success is celebrated and encouraged for every student. This is key to the school’s ethos and values.

The school is very fortunate to have a fantastic team of teaching and support staff that are totally committed to raising standards and pupil outcomes, whilst maintaining a key focus on providing outstanding care. This is supported by the school’s past and recent Ofsted results. In 2006, they were graded as Good with Outstanding features. The last two visits were in 2011 and 2016; on both occasions the school was graded as Outstanding in all areas and is now categorised as an Exceptional School. 

The current Headteacher has been in post since January 2015. He will be leaving for a new opportunity to work as a Civil Servant for HMI. The Governing Body are keen to meet with aspiring Headteachers or more experienced Heads looking for a new challenge. NPQH attainment is not essential but will be an advantage. The aim is to appoint an inspirational and ambitious leader with a clear vision who will continue the school’s outstanding journey.
