This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced colleague at Deputy Head or serving Head level or for a less experienced senior leader, who could be supported initially by another successful Headteacher from within the Trust, if required.

We wish to appoint:

  • A person who values all children as individuals and ensures that all children are confident and able to achieve their full potential
  • Someone with a proven track record of outstanding practice and achievement with high expectations in all areas of school life
  • A leader and innovator who encourages, enthuses and motivates the school community through excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Someone who will maintain and develop the partnerships between our school, our parents, our parishes, Diocese and the wider community

Our Children would like someone who is:

  • Calm
  • Organised and a good listener
  • Kind and makes sure everybody is happy
  • Caring and who will look after them
  • Creative and helpful with class work
  • Firm but fair

We can offer:

  • A highly supportive and ambitious Catholic Multi-Academy Trust Board and Governing Body
  • A happy working and learning environment
  • A stable, strong and enthusiastic staff team
  • Access to further professional development
  • First class CPD opportunities and the opportunity to lead CPD for The Nottingham Catholic Teaching School Alliance
  • An excellent, bespoke induction programme
  • First-rate personal career development opportunities as part of a new forward thinking CMAT and its associated Teaching School Alliance
  • A wonderful opportunity!

There will be an expectation that you will make a positive contribution to the overall  development of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.

Welcome to St Mary’s.

We are a Catholic community of learners striving to achieve excellence in everything that we do. St. Mary’s is a place where people matter and we are very proud of the tradition the school has for taking care of and supporting children as they learn and develop. Ensuring that every child learns to the best of his or her ability is at the core of what we do. We take a holistic view of education and seek to develop children academically, physically, spiritually, culturally, personally and emotionally.

At St Mary’s we aim to develop a caring community where children and adults live in harmony. Our mission statement promotes learning as a lifelong process and it directs everything the school attempts to do. We want the children in our care:

“To walk hand in hand with God, loving him, loving each other and loving ourselves, doing our best with the gifts he gave us to make the world a richer place.”

The School Ethos is marked by:

  • High expectations of our staff, children and families to be the best they can.
  • Equal opportunities, where all individuals connected with the school will be granted dignity and respect because we believe people are our most important asset.
  • Everybody working together, striving for excellence.
  • A happy environment where every child matters and feels safe and secure.
  • Change and innovation, always willing to try new ideas as “discovery and research are an exploration into the mind of God.”

Our school is part of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust which brings together the 36 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire. Our priority is to ensure the very best Catholic Education for all young people in our community, whatever their circumstances. We will achieve this together, through a strategic approach to sharing best practice, effective challenge and support from a central standards and performance team and opportunities for high quality Continuing Professional Development offered by the CMAT’s teaching school, The Nottingham Initial Teacher Training Hub.
