Job overview

Windmill L.E.A.D is part of the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, which was recently named by Ofsted's former Chief Inspector, Sir Michael Wilshaw, as a "high performer" and that it should be used as an example to others.

Windmill L.E.A.D Academy has just over 461 pupils on roll and is a ‘Good’ school, as rated by Ofsted in January 2015. We are seeking a visionary leader to join us from September with the skills, experience and drive to build on the school’s achievements and lead it to outstanding.

We are looking for an exceptional communicator who has a clear understanding of how to develop our school further. You will have high expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour. You will be able to engage, motivate and excite pupils to learn. Your colleagues, the parents and other key stakeholders will trust and respect your leadership so that your vision can be achieved. Previous senior leadership experience (either as a deputy or head teacher) is essential.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is an exceptional leader who leads by example with proven experience of accelerating progress and raising standards
  • has the ability to communicate a clear vision for school improvement
  • has the ability to work successfully with the community
  • has the ability to lead a strategic team.

In return, the successful candidate will:

  • be joining a strong and dynamic team of professionals
  • be supported through a comprehensive professional development programme
  • work in a school with high aspirations for all its pupils and staff
  • be provided with excellent career opportunities
  • be given a highly competitive salary, negotiable according to experience and track record.

This is a superb opportunity to develop and progress professionally and to impact upon children’s learning.

Visits to the school are recommended and warmly welcomed. To arrange a visit and to see how to apply, please contact Chris Gartner at Hays Leadership on 07595 646 645 or email him chris.gartner@hays.com.

Closing date: 9:00 am on Tuesday 18th April
Interview dated: Week beginning 24th April
