The City School, established in Karachi in 1978, is a one of the largest private school networks in Pakistan, with 185 schools in 52 cities across the country. Over 126,000 students in 458 owned and franchised schools benefit from the knowledge and skills-based curriculum, derived from the UK national curriculum.

The educational programme, which encourages students to take an active role in the learning process, takes children from Nursery through to 18 years old. Students in the 16-18 year-old group sit Cambridge National Examinations, qualifying them for the IGCSE, and O- and A-level examinations.

One of the main strengths of The City School's offering lies in the integration of digital media and ICTs in an array of its learning programmes. Digital media and ICTs in The City School Network are shaping the methodology of delivering online education and adding efficiency, convenience, interactivity and outreach to the programmes.

The City School has also taken the initiative of implementing a state-of-the-art Classroom/Learning Management System capable of providing its students with academic resources anytime, anywhere, and in any circumstances.

Values and vision

Continuous Human Resource Development is the philosophy that lies behind everything that The City School does. Its goal is, quite simply, academic excellence.

In Pakistan, The City School (TCS) is the pioneer in incorporating values education into its curriculum. It is actively engaged in a values-centred approach to learning, teaching and administration, building a network of values-centred schools under the Values Education Programme - a collaboration with the Hong Kong-based Living Values Education Programme in which an exchange of dialogues and ideas is taking place.
