An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and dynamic individual to lead and develop Heltwate Special School.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated professional, with a passion for improving the life chances and opportunities of children and young people with SEND, to join us from September 2024.
Heltwate is a friendly and welcoming school for pupils aged 4 to 19 with an increasingly complex range of severe learning difficulties associated with Autism, communication and interaction, physical disabilities, and medical needs. Young people’s ability to make progress is limited across all areas of development.
Heltwate is a large special school with 213 pupils across 3 sites, with an intake in Peterborough and the surrounding area. It is oversubscribed has a good reputation and is still expanding
If you:
- have the ability to lead a progressive special school and lead the next steps of its development.
- have strong leadership and management skills, either as an existing Head or someone who has extensive leadership experience in a special school.
- have the ability to further develop a clear vision of continued excellence with the current leadership team, staff, parents and governors.
- are committed to working with the other special and mainstream schools developing strong partnerships with external partners and have a vision to continue to develop a centre of excellence.
