Starting salary negotiable with an additional payment of up to 10% for an exceptional candidate.  A relocation package will also be considered, where applicable.

We are seeking a Headteacher with demonstrable leadership experience and a highly effective communicator with a tenacity to drive educational standards at pace.

After a number of years of standards below those that Governors find acceptable for our children, improvements have started to take shape and the school has formed a partnership with the nearby outstanding Teaching School of Hollingworth Academy. RSC approval to join Hollingworth Academy in a Multi Academy Trust has now been given.

The Governing Board are looking to appoint a Headteacher with a passion to empower others and a leader that will develop our aspirations and further develop our curriculum and facilitate successful outcomes for all our students.  We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who may have the drive to contribute significantly to the new developing MAT and potentially have the capacity to take a leading role in the future.

The school is located in the Township of Heywood, in the foothills of the Pennines, with good transport links to Manchester and beyond.

They would be expected to be capable of delivering the strategic development of the school through both their own vision and that of the local partnership with an outstanding school.

Recently appointed senior leaders are now improving teaching and assessment effectively. The school's assessment of students' progress is now accurate. The checking of students' progress over time is clearly presented so all staff can now see clearly whether students are achieving sufficiently well. The majority of students behave well in and around the school. Students' behaviour has improved over time and they get on well with each other and with adults.”
