Job overview
Are you a caring and motivational leader who wants to be part of a happy, creative and ambitious school community that puts its students at the centre of everything it does? Do you have clear vision for school leadership, driven by a desire to inspire young people to reach both their academic and personal potential?
Set in the heart of beautiful Formby village, Formby High School is a successful and distinctive 11-18 academy school which has been heavily oversubscribed over the past two decades. The school is a caring, happy and safe environment where students and staff enjoy positive relationships built upon mutual respect and shared ambitions for success.
The Governors of Formby High School are looking for an exceptional ‘natural leader’ with the energy and ambition to build upon the school’s many successes and demonstrate commitment to the delivery of its long-term development goals.
With the current Headteacher leaving to progress his career, the school is beginning a new chapter and embracing the exciting opportunities this presents. We are seeking to appoint a Headteacher who has the skills and passion to empower staff to deliver excellent education and a wider student experience that supports our young people to expand their horizons, fulfil their potential and achieve their ambitions.
Our new Headteacher will value and nurture the creativity that makes our school so unique and which fosters confidence, courage, resilience and teamwork amongst our students from the moment they leave primary school to starting university or employment.
The Headteacher will be a strong, approachable and visible leader who inspires trust and confidence across the school and the community. As a reflective and visionary practitioner, the growth-minded Headteacher will be able to identify clear school improvement priorities which are underpinned by sound planning and management of resources.
