Phoenix School of Therapeutic Education
We are looking to appoint a Headteacher, who will bring great leadership, passion and vision to developing and delivering high quality education.
Our Headteacher must be able to maintain high expectations and challenge for all staff and students.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right Headteacher to drive and continue the development of our school towards ‘outstanding’.
Phoenix School is the education provision for adolescent in-patients at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, and is a specialist provider for young people who are suffering from severe and/or complex mental health conditions.
Registered with the department for education in Summer 2016, the school went through a full OFSTED inspection within its first year, achieving ‘Good’ overall, with ‘Outstanding’ in personal development, behaviour and welfare. Inspectors were impressed by the ‘calm and purposeful atmosphere’ in the school, putting this down to the ‘trusting relationships’ built between staff and students.
As Headteacher, you will need to show commitment to our aims and values as well as have a demonstrable track record of inspirational leadership.
In return, you’ll find it a hugely satisfying role in a uniquely rewarding place to work.
We can offer you a supportive proprietor, a committed school community, a strong and experienced team of staff and continued professional development.
Visits to the school are welcome.
We have appointments available throughout the vacancy period, please contact Rebecca Price (school manager) on 0114 279 3317 or RebeccaPrice@cygnethealth.co.uk to arrange.
Such a visit is not part of the selection process and whether or not applicants have visited will not influence the final outcome.
For more information about the role, please contact Edward Hall (Head of education) on 0114 279 3333 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
To apply, please request our headteachers candidate briefing pack and application form from RebeccaPrice@cygnethealth.co.uk.
Closing date: Sunday 22nd April 2018 23.59pm.
