To start September 2022

Anns Grove is an oversubscribed, diverse and inclusive school at the heart of a vibrant and supportive community. Staff and governors have high expectations for all our children and are proud to contribute to the progress they make, both academically and as global citizens. We are privileged to have a fantastic outdoor space with which to support pupil’s learning and wellbeing. These facilities include a football pitch, a cross-country track, and even a beehive.

We are looking for an inspirational and outward-facing Headteacher with the passion, vision and resilience to lead our school as we move forward onto the next step of our journey.

The appointed candidate will:

  • have senior leadership experience and a demonstrable record of contributing to whole school improvement
  • have the strategic vision to lead the school during an uncertain and changing education landscape
  • maintain Anns Grove’s excellent record, while bringing new ideas and further developing the talents of our committed and experienced staff
  • further promote the school, engaging with parents and carers and seeking networks with the wider community
  • lead an outward-looking school, which values collaboration and the opportunity to work with other schools
  • develop our broad and creative curriculum, recognising and building upon the importance of the extra-curricular activities we offer

In return, we can provide the successful candidate with:

  • an exciting opportunity to lead our school, while deploying the school’s secure financial position to the benefit of all our pupils
  • an inspirational school environment with engaged and incredibly well-behaved children
  • a commitment to your ongoing professional development

Visits to the school are encouraged and can be arranged by contacting Helen Maher, School Business Manager, on 0114 255 0398. For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the current Headteacher, Sam Fearnehough, on the same number.

Anns Grove is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children. We expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

All shortlisted candidates will be asked to disclose any cautions or convictions prior to interview. The amendments to the ROA Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain convictions and cautions are 'protected' and are therefore not subject to disclosure to employers. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and a Children’s

Barred List check. Candidates are asked to read the school’s safeguarding policy, which is available at: www.annsgrove.co.uk/policies.

Completed applications forms, and any queries about the recruitment process, should be addressed to Scott Glover at scott@gloverrecruitment.co.uk.

Please use the attached Sheffield City Council application form. We are unable to consider CVs or applications not submitted on this form.

Closing date for applications: 4.30pm on Thursday 20th January 2022

Assessment centre and Interviews: Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th January 2022
