Job overview

Tuition, Medical and Behaviour Support Service (TMBSS) seeks to appoint a Head Teacher to an attractive and challenging position. The Service provides for children aged 5 to 16 with social, emotional, behavioural and medical difficulties which prevent them from attending mainstream school. The main purpose of the Service is to include and reintegrate into the child's original or another mainstream school where possible. We see about 50-60 pupils through to GCSE each year.

We currently have 146 places and serve children ages 5 to 16 from Shropshire (excluding Telford and Wrekin ) and some from other authorities who are Looked After locally. At our last Ofsted inspection (July 2013) we were rated Good with some Outstanding areas.

Our new Head Teacher will need experience and vision to continue our success and lead through the next phase which includes consideration of our options around Academisation. They will need to demonstrate an understanding of and take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy, articulacy and the correct use of standard English, whatever the teacher's specialist subject

The new appointment will receive the backing of a committed staff, an experienced Senior Leadership Team, and a supportive Governing Board.
