General statement regarding the school:

Ruishton Church of England Primary School seeks to appoint a caring and inspirational teaching Headteacher to maintain the Christian ethos and build on the strategic development of this happy, close knit and effective village school. Ruishton Church of England Primary School is situated in a beautiful rural location seven miles east of the county town of Taunton with easy links to the M5 motorway. We have a friendly and committed staff team, a strong PTFA and Local School Committee with a supportive parent community.

As a school with a Church of England foundation, the partnership with the local church and the importance placed on Christian theology underpins the values that are at the heart of our school. The school was judged Good in the most recent SIAMS and will be reinspected in the Autumn 2021.

The school is an active member of The Oak Partnership Trust, which enables us to formally collaborate with other primary and special schools within the Trust.

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative leader, who is passionate about teaching and learning and can appreciate the benefits of working within the structure of a Multi Academy Trust.

We are seeking a head who will be approachable, present and visible to all in our local community. We will provide opportunities for development and collaborative strategic thinking across our MAT

The post requires up to two days class teaching responsibility.
