Big enough to inspire, small enough to care
(Psalm 23:1-4) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Ryecroft is a Church of England Middle School with places for 240 pupils, aged 9 to 13 years, located in modern buildings within the village of Rocester, Staffordshire. Our school is part of the Uttoxeter Learning Trust and is a key part of the local community with strong links to the wider community. Our children are hardworking and caring, which we believe is one of our key strengths.
The last Ofsted and SIAM’s inspections in 2017 indicated that the school is good. The school offers strong leadership and supports pupil progress in both key stages through our creative approach to the curriculum. We empower our adults and children to develop trust, resilience and perseverance so that they are able to face the challenges of the world.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Headteacher to take Ryecroft on the next stage of its journey.
As a school we offer:
- A welcoming and safe school environment with a strong and distinctive Christian ethos
- Supportive links with our local church and wider community
- A committed and active staff team, governing body, parents and carers
- A supportive Trust Board enabling close collaboration with our family of schools
- Confident, happy and aspirational children
In return the successful applicant will:
- Be an inspirational and strong leader who can build on our vision to drive the school forward and lead change
- Be passionate about developing the Christian distinctiveness of our school and providing an inclusive learning environment.
- Provide operational and strategic leadership to our strong and supportive team.
- Be a confident and influential leader who listens and values the views of others whilst inspiring staff to develop their talents, recognising and developing their potential
- Work with our other trust schools, CEO, governors and trust board
If you believe you can offer us strategic and inspirational leadership building on our success and are someone who will value and promote our school ethos, then we would like to hear from you

Being a relatively small Middle School, we pride ourselves in our knowledge of each child and the reassuring and positive atmosphere within the school. We believe our school provides the smoothest possible transition from the class-based organisation of the First School to the specialised subject based curriculum of the High School
