Job overview
Hillside School is a small special school with great ambitions for its pupils with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties. The school serves a wide catchment area covering the whole of South West Suffolk and is well embedded in the local community. We are committed to providing a stimulating, happy and supportive environment in which every child can flourish as an individual and be encouraged to fulfil their potential.
Following the current Headteacher's decision to work with disadvantaged children around the world, the Governors are looking for applications from candidates with:
- proven leadership and management skills
- a commitment to delivering continuous improvement in all aspects of school life
- dedication and imagination to build on the many outstanding strengths of the school and to engage with future educational opportunities.
In turn, we can offer you:
- a dedicated Governing Body
- supportive, excellently trained staff
- engaged parents
- a strong commitment to your professional development.
In March 2018, Hillside School was described by Ofsted, for the fourth consecutive time, as 'Outstanding', stating that "staff do a fabulous job at fulfilling every child's individual needs", that "the culture of safeguarding pupils' well-being is very strong" and "the school is a vibrant, happy place where all pupils are interested in their learning".
