Olive AP Academy – Thurrock was rated as “Good” in all areas by Ofsted at its latest inspection in December 2018. The trust is now looking to appoint a headteacher who will lead our academy in the next phase of its journey towards becoming an outstanding alternative provision.

We are looking for an experienced school leader who is ready to deliver an ambitious academy curriculum based on the principles of expeditionary learning – a leader who has the strategic skills and expertise to deliver on our high expectations.

This is a significant appointment for Olive Academies and the trust will provide you with all of the appropriate support required to make a real success of the role.

The headteacher will work very closely with the Olive Academies’ CEO and play an integral part in shaping the strategic future of the academy and the trust.

Olive AP Academy - Thurrock

Just 40 minutes from central London by train, Olive AP Academy - Thurrock is based in Tilbury. Our brand new building opened to staff and students in summer 2017. The academy was graded as 'Good' in all areas at its last Ofsted inspection in December 2018.

We work with pupils who have been permanently excluded from school and those who have medical needs.  Our alternative provision academy has up to 96 students aged between 11 and 16 on roll at any one time. 

Olive AP Academy – Thurrock is part of the Olive Academies Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), approved by the Department for Education. Established in 2013, it is one of the first academy sponsors specialising in alternative provision in England. 

Our aim is to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked. We help our pupils develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives.
