Job overview

Headteacher

Leadership scale L18- L24

Full time, permanent position

To commence 1st September 2023

Worthington Primary School is a happy, friendly and successful school. We have a committed team of extremely talented staff, hugely supportive parents and a strong, committed Governing Board. Our wonderful children are all eager to learn and develop. This is an exciting time to join our school as we have recently grown from a 45 to a 60-place intake school (November 2020). This has enabled the school to develop a sequenced curriculum for all our children and removed all vertical grouping.

The school is a modern building (replacing the first school on the site which was built in 1905) erected in 2013, with an additional extension built in 2020. It sits in beautiful grounds and takes pride of place in the local environment.

The school has 451 pupils on roll.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate who is dynamic, dedicated, a team player and is knowledgeable about children’s learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • demonstrate an extensive proven track record of successful leadership and management;
  • have extensive experience of primary education;
  • possess skills and expertise to continue to develop the highest standards of teaching and learning;
  • demonstrate excellent communication skills;
  • be approachable, caring and have integrity;
  • have the ability to work collaboratively;
  • possess strong financial management skills;
  • possess the ability to inspire staff and pupils and champion success for all;
  • have the commitment to further develop our strong partnerships with parents, governors and the community;
  • have the skills to build on the expertise of our existing dedicated and highly committed team;
  • be fully involved in and passionate about all aspects of school life.

We can offer you:

  • a successful, popular school with a welcoming, caring atmosphere and ethos;
  • a creative and nurturing environment;
  • established, skilled, dedicated and supportive staff;
  • well-behaved and happy children who enjoy learning;
  • a committed and supportive board of governors which provides an appropriate level of challenge;
  • parents who provide active and enthusiastic support to the school;
  • a school that has long occupied a strong place in the local community.

Application packs are available from the school office or from the school website- Vacancies – Worthington Primary School (worthington-primary.trafford.sch.uk)

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed on Thursday 3rd or Friday 4th November 2022 and can be arranged by contacting the school office on 0161 973 3504 or by emailing the school business manager, Maria Brncic, mbrncic@worthingtonprimary.co.uk
