Job overview

Bloxwich Academy is a school on the up – and we need you to take it even higher.

You could already be a headteacher, or perhaps you are an ambitious deputy who is looking for their next career step. Either way, you should be an exceptional leader who can inspire staff and make a real difference to the life chances of every child.

We need someone who can build on the school’s recent, rapid improvements. Bloxwich has been through a tough time, but that time is coming to an end and we need you to help drive the school’s transformation. In their most recent visit, Ofsted were impressed that “morale is high”, noting the “positive climate for learning” and highlighting that “relationships between staff and pupils are strong.”

Bringing a vibrant vision for the future, you will develop this aspirational culture whilst motivating staff and pupils to achieve their best.

Bloxwich Academy’s future is very much in your hands, though you will be able to draw on the full support of the Matrix Academy Trust.

To arrange a visit, or for an informal discussion about the role, please contact Lynsey Draycott on 0121 366 6600 or e-mail Ldraycott@barrbeaconschool.co.uk

If you know you would already like to apply, please visit www.matrixacademytrust.co.uk to download an application form and email this with your covering letter to Ldraycott@barrbeaconschool.co.uk

Closing date: 12th May 2017.

At Bloxwich Academy we expect everyone to 'be the best they can be'. We aim for all of our pupils to be respectful, confident and motivated learners who are proud of their achievement and their academy. We want all of our learners to aspire to achieve academically; to be able to access higher education or a good quality apprenticeship and to develop their employability skills to give our young people real-life chances.

It is our strong belief that embedding high standards of behaviour and attitudes to learning, along with developing excellent learning and teaching practices, lead to the best educational outcomes. We strive to provide high-quality professional development to all our staff to ensure they are the best practitioners in their fields. In addition to recruiting inspiring teachers and quality support staff to guide our young people to succeed. Through being part of Matrix Academy Trust we work closely with our training school to meet this aim. The progress achieved here at Bloxwich Academy in the last 12 months has been vast and we are determined to see standards improve further each and every day.
