Job overview

Lead an exceptional school. Shape its next chapter.

Myton School is ready for its next Headteacher — a values-driven, trauma informed and ambitious leader who wants to build on strong foundations and take an already high-performing school to the next level.

Situated between Warwick and Leamington Spa, Myton is an oversubscribed and highly regarded 11–18 school of over 1,700 pupils. Our students achieve GCSE outcomes consistently above national averages, and our Sixth Form — judged Outstanding — continues to grow (PAN rising to 550) as demand from families increases.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a thriving, community-rooted school with momentum, ambition and the capacity to grow further.

Why Myton?

You will inherit:

  • A strong culture of aspiration, respect, inclusion and values-driven practice

  • An Outstanding Sixth Form with a broad and ambitious post-16 offer

  • A deeply committed and talented staff team

  • A highly effective and respected SEND department embedded in trauma-informed, child-centred approaches

  • Pupils who are engaged, community-minded and proud of their school

  • A rich extra-curricular programme including residentials, international trips, Duke of Edinburgh, university visits and more

  • A transformative new build project, completing in just three years, delivering state‑of‑the‑art, modern facilities that will elevate the experience for every young person we serve.

You will also benefit from strong primary partnerships and meaningful community links that support transition and outreach.

The Opportunity

As Headteacher, you will:

  • Build on sustained academic success and drive the next phase of excellence

  • Strengthen a culture of high expectations, achievement and inclusion grounded in values-based leadership

  • Champion staff wellbeing, professional growth and trauma-informed relational practice

  • Lead with moral purpose, clarity and visibility

  • Work collaboratively across Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust

  • Shape the future of a school already trusted and valued by its community

This role offers both stability and scope: a successful school with the platform and support to innovate, refine and grow.

We’re Looking For a Leader Who:

  • Is ambitious for every child and every colleague

  • Combines strategic vision with operational strength

  • Builds trust quickly and communicates with authenticity

  • Leads inclusively and develops others

  • Thrives in collaboration across a forward-thinking MAT

What You’ll Gain

  • The privilege of leading a truly exceptional school

  • A comprehensive induction and strong Trust support

  • A skilled, committed and welcoming staff body

  • A supportive Governing Body

  • The backing of Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust — 14 schools working together to share expertise, develop best practice and support one another professionally and personally

If you are energised by leading a school where ambition, creativity and moral purpose drive everything — this could be the defining next step in your career.

Myton School is a larger than average, popular, co-educational school where students of all abilities, aptitudes and social backgrounds thrive and achieve.

We are part of Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust. Founded in 2017 this Trust consists of eight primary schools, four secondary schools and one all through school. The Trust currently employs 900 staff and educates over 7000 children across its schools throughout Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.

Myton School’s community is based upon high expectations of learning and behaviour which are underpinned by our pastoral systems, ensuring all students are individually known and supported. We believe that all students should be equally valued in school and we pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere where every student can flourish.

Support for new colleagues within the Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust is excellent. There is a well-established induction programme and the Trust is highly committed to the ongoing professional development of all staff. We support and value one another in contributing to a culture which is always seeking new ways to improve and develop.

"We aim to create an environment where our staff feel supported and challenged and where they can thrive as highly skilled practitioners. We value the contribution of every colleague and aim to develop a sense of professional curiosity which will allow them to develop their practice and excel. We also support our staff on a personal level by providing an extensive package of wellbeing resources." Ranjit Samra, Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust CEO

We have a well-equipped school site with separate purpose-built facilities for PE, Design and Technology, Science and English. Our extensive playing fields include two full-size football pitches, a floodlit astro-turf pitch and the John Atkinson Sports Hall.

Warwickshire is a wonderful place to live and work. The towns of Warwick and Leamington offer a great combination of green spaces, historical buildings, leisure facilities and a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants. There is a great local road network with the nearby M40 and A46, as well as a fast train link with Birmingham and London. In 2020 Leamington Spa was named by the Sunday Times as one of the best places to live in the UK due to its elegant architecture and cutting-edge technology.
