The governing body is now looking to appoint a new and ambitious, inspirational and dynamic Headteacher. We’re keen to hear from great leaders, whether you’re an experienced Headteacher looking for a new challenge or an ambitious Senior Leader ready for your first headship who is able to build on the existing good practice here and move us forward.

Eastlands Primary School is a popular, successful and friendly school where each individual child is important. We have high expectations of all children and respect for each other is at the core of everything we do. In February 2013, Eastlands was judged a Good school by OfSTED and our attainment at the end of Key Stage 2 in all subjects has improved consistently over the last five years and significantly exceeds National in specific subjects.

In November 2014 our Nursery was judged as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by OFSTED. Our vision is to become an Outstanding school offering a first class education for all children in an environment that is both supportive and challenging and we are looking for dynamic and motivated head teacher who can help us on that journey.

The Headteacher will provide leadership and will work with staff, governing body, parents/carers and the local authority to build on the existing strong foundations and further improve all aspects of standards and quality.

The Headteacher will take overall responsibility for the organisation, management, conduct and academic performance of Eastlands Primary School in accordance with the school’s policies and in consultation with the governing body.

You will ensure the school fully adheres to all current statutory requirements, local and national policies and guidance on safeguarding and the promotion of the well-being of children. Equality, safety, respect and kindness will underpin all aspects of the Headteacher’s work.

The Headteacher should be committed to their own continuing professional development, as well as that of all staff.
