The Governors of Parmiter’s School invite applications for the post of Headteacher of this exceptional school.
They wish to appoint an inspirational Headteacher whose leadership, vision and energy will help drive and shape the school’s future in line with the school’s ethos and values. The school is proud of its commitment to producing well-rounded individuals with a sense of integrity, social responsibility and desire to serve the community.
Parmiter’s students thrive in a supportive and disciplined environment in which they are encouraged to develop an independent work ethic and love of learning. This underpins the admirable academic record Parmiter’s enjoys and the consistent success of its students for gaining admission to the most sought-after higher education institutions. This reputation for excellence doubtless points to the reason why it is the most oversubscribed school in Hertfordshire.
Parmiter’s is an Academy, judged outstanding by Ofsted, with 1,437 students on roll; including 390 in the Sixth Form. The school has a rich history dating back to the 1681 will of Thomas Parmiter, who left property to support the education of ten poor children in Bethnal Green where the original school was founded. It now enjoys enviable facilities, including a fully equipped sports centre and drama space, as well as a state-of-the-art music technology base, in a 60-acre setting in Hertfordshire. It is supported financially by the Parmiter’s School Foundation, a charity which owns the bulk of the estate.
Applications are invited from both serving and aspiring Headteachers, who are encouraged to visit the school.
