The Inspired Learning Group is looking to recruit a dynamic and inspirational Headteacher to lead this popular preparatory school and nursery, commencing January 2021 or April 2021.

St Christopher’s Preparatory School & Nursery has a strong family atmosphere and prepares pupils exceptionally well for schools of their choice at age 11. The proprietor is keen to build on the School’s success and appoint a dedicated educationalist with a proven track record in delivering successful and innovative outcomes.

St Christopher’s Preparatory School & Nursery is a small, friendly preparatory school for boys and girls aged 2 to 11. St Christopher has a unique and charming atmosphere, seldom found in schools today. The school buildings consist of a large converted detached house, extended to accommodate the classrooms. The well-equipped playground provides ample space for outdoor learning and play.

This is an exciting leadership position for someone to take on the day-to-day management and leadership of an excellent School and Nursery and shape future growth. The successful candidate should be passionate about children and their learning and an inspiring leader for all members of the School community.

The School belongs to the ISA with regular ISI Inspections, the last being in May 2019 where the School achieved excellent and outstanding in all areas of the School. Recent reports indicate excellent standards in pastoral care, spiritual and emotional development and good learning and results.

The Executive Leadership Team of the school comprises of the Head and Deputy, along with the Head of Early Years. This group is responsible for the day to day operations for the whole school. The school and nursery is supported by the proprietorial group in many aspects including strategy, marketing, education, standards, HR and finance.

The salary is £60,000 to £65,000

Qualified Teacher Status and evidence of continuing professional development
Success as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher
Leadership at various levels, in a variety of contexts
Demonstrable commitment to implementing the ideals of independent education Managing and developing the school’s financial management responsibilities
Managing, developing, inspiring and motivating staff
Successes of implementing effective pupil tracking systems to ensure that pupils of all levels of ability achieve their potential
Managing policy development and educational compliance
Understanding of school self-evaluation processes, and the implementation of school improvement plans
