Job overview

Our Headteacher is stepping up to a new career opportunity and our Governors are seeking to appoint a replacement with the experience, vision and ambition to further the achievements of our school.

We are looking for a leader who will build on our excellent reputation as a small rural village school, situated at the heart of a thriving community, in which Christian values are central to the ethos of the school and its teaching. Our school is a happy place with a tradition of fostering pupil well being by combining best teaching and learning practice with care and consideration for the inclusion of everyone.

Ideally we would like a candidate to take up post from next January, but we are prepared to wait for the right person.

Our school can offer you an opportunity to further develop:

  • pupils who enjoy learning and are engaged in their work;
  • an excellent reputation and a history of high achievement;
  • strong partnerships with the village, local Churches and the Englefield Estate;
  • a delightful setting with well resourced teaching facilities close to Reading and only 5 minutes from Junction 12 of the M4;
  • a creative, committed and well-motivated team of staff and Governors;
  • strong parental involvement and an active and successful PTA;
  • an ambition for the school to become more of a focal point for education in the community.

Visits to the school by prospective candidates are very welcome. Please contact Julia Kidd, School Business Manager on office@englefield.w-berks.sch.uk or phone 01189302337 to arrange an appointment.
