You will:

  • be a dynamic, passionate and ambitious leader with a proven record of successful school leadership, improvement and transformation
  • bring with you an optimistic and solutions-based approach and communicate this effectively to motivate and energise staff, children and the whole school community
  • use your analytical prowess to identify challenges and implement solutions
  • be committed to developing and empowering our children to be the best human beings they can be
  • provide our children with the excitement of a relevant, challenging and creative curriculum
  • be aspirational and innovative, having a relentless focus on continuous improvement
  • maintain a culture of high expectations
  • always lead by example

We will offer you:

  • a richly diverse school with a strong community ethos
  • children who will challenge and inspire you every day
  • an equally ambitious and passionate staff team and governing body
  • the space for you to develop your plan for turning the school’s vision into reality
  • a brand new, state-of-the-art school building with extensive grounds and car park

The children say they want a Headteacher who should:

  • be energetic, generous and adventurous;
  • learn everyone's name;
  • be smartly dressed;
  • be funny and do fun assemblies;
  • be quite strict but not telling people off all the time - they should also be kind;
  • take the time to listen to our ideas;
  • come on trips and also teach sometimes;
  • cheer children  up and fix their problems, if someone is sad, ask what's wrong;
  • buy more interesting things for us to play with and make sure that lessons are always fun;
  • come to school council meetings to discuss our ideas and suggestions.

The journey will have its challenges yet the rewards will be immensely satisfying.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged and warmly welcomed. Please contact Mrs Maricarmen Forster, School Business Manager, either by e-mail mforster@geschool.co.uk or telephone: 020 7722 2000 to make an appointment to view the school.

Values and vision  Our school is not only focused upon academic success but also the emotional well-being and intelligence of all of our children. We believe that young children need to be exposed to a wide range of experiences to enable them to reach their full potential and be ready for the next phase of their education.

Every child at George Eliot Primary will be a confident individual who has a curiosity and love of learning.

Our children will develop resilience and have a positive attitude to the world around them; celebrating our similarities and differences. Everyone will display mutual respect to one another, whilst also learning from each other.

 Effective partnerships between home and school are viewed as crucial to enable each child to succeed.
