Baytree School is a specialist school for young people aged 3-19 years who have severe learning difficulties and/or profound and multiple learning difficulties.

An exciting opportunity to lead our well-loved special school has arisen due to the retirement of our current Headteacher. Applications are invited from exceptional, motivated and inspirational individuals with proven track records of successful school leadership.

We are seeking a leader to direct the school’s strategic planning in an ever-changing educational landscape. Our new Headteacher will be passionate about learning and meeting the needs of individuals and will ensure we maintain an innovative and creative approach that places the pupil at the heart of all we do, securing the very best outcomes for every young person.

The successful candidate will:

  • demonstrate first-hand experience of leadership and management roles;
  • welcome strong governance and actively support the governing body;
  • have a high regard for and understanding of safeguarding;
  • inspire and challenge the staff team;
  • be an experienced and exemplary teacher who is passionate about pupils’ learning;
  • sustain our commitment to working collaboratively with parents, carers and professionals.
