Highfield St Matthew’s C of E Primary School is a caring and distinctly Christian  primary school based in Wigan, welcoming children of all faiths and none. Our core values and Christian ethos, which underpin the vision and aims of the Church of England, are demonstrated on a daily basis.

The school is an integral part of the Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust (LDST) which comprises 16 schools across the region.

The LDST Board of Directors is seeking to recruit a dynamic, innovative and experienced professional who will lead Highfield St Matthew’s to become an outstanding school, that fits the needs of the community it serves, in an ever-changing educational landscape. 

You will have an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the school, across the MAT and with other key stakeholders. You will have recent school headship experience, with an ability to effect change at pace. You will be committed to providing the children with a high quality education and environment where Christian values and principals permeate throughout.
