Job overview

‘Living life in all its Fullness’

Are you interested in leading a school where we seek to put children at the centre of their own learning and encourage them to be confident and to strive for excellence, not just success?

Are you are looking for a school in which creativity, pragmatism, a sense of moral purpose, warmth, and energy are underpinned by a culture of support?

St Luke’s is a 1.5 form entry primary school with nursery representing a wonderfully diverse community in Maidenhead. We believe we’re a forward-thinking school with a team who are ambitious for the success of our children, but we are also on a journey and seeking a Headteacher who will build on the foundations already in place and continue to move us forward. We can also provide you with the support, and challenge, that come from being part of a well-established multi-academy trust.

This is a great opportunity but don’t just take our word for it- please come and see for yourself!

To arrange a visit to the school please contact Bob Pattenden, ODST School Improvement Partner, on 07423 109263 or email Bob.Pattenden@oxford.anglican.org

Applications should be made on-line by visiting https://www.odst.org.uk/vacancies and clicking on ‘view current vacancies’.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 11 June 2023.

Please not that CVs will not be considered for shortlisting.

A selection process for shortlisted candidates will be held on Monday 19 June 2023.

St Luke’s Church of England School, as a member of the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust, is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check.

Values and vision

St Luke's Church of England School is committed to promoting Christian values. There is a daily act of worship, which staff see as an important part of school life. The act of worship is broadly Christian in nature and incorporates aspects of personal, social, health and emotional education. The primary school is sensitive to the needs of children of other faiths when planning acts of worship. Staff firmly believe that no child should be expected to worship in a way that undermines their own faith, but that children should also be encouraged to broaden their experiences and respect others.

St Luke's Church of England School believes its core values help prepare all children to become responsible and caring members of modern Britain. Teachers value each pupil as an individual with different talents and needs. As the children grow older, they gain roles of greater responsibility and are offered opportunities to be playground leaders, as well as prefects and house captains.
