Job overview

L25 - L30 + accommodation/accommodation allowance + excellent benefits – Woking, Surrey

Required for September 2020 (or January 2021 for an exceptional candidate)

The Governors of St. Andrew’s School are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher for our established, respected and thriving co-educational Prep school. Our current Headmaster is retiring after 26 years’ excellent service (11 years as Headmaster) leaving a superb legacy. A fantastic opportunity has therefore arisen for an inspiring individual to lead our school on its continuing journey of achievement and success.

St. Andrew’s has continually invested over the years and has recently completed a major building project that has included a brand new theatre, food tech room, classrooms, library and changing rooms. We are looking for someone who will further build upon this excellent growth and development and who shares our passion and ambition for the school and the pupils, ensuring excellent standards of learning and development and the highest quality education for our pupils.

Possibly an established Headteacher or an aspiring Deputy or member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will head up a hardworking team who are proud of their school and truly believe in the potential of every child in their care. In our last three parent questionnaires, parents considered the quality of the teaching staff to be the school’s strongest attribute, and our new Headteacher will find themselves supported by a strong staff team and part of a unique and caring family environment.

In return we are looking for a forward-thinking candidate, with a clear vision and proven track record in teaching and pastoral care, who can lead, motivate and enthuse staff, pupils, parents and the wider community. An excellent persuasive communicator and listener, you will have strong commercial awareness together with the ability to be a compelling ambassador for the school.

Excellent benefits include a competitive salary, accommodation or accommodation allowance, pension scheme and private medical insurance.

If you’d like to arrange a school tour, please contact Dawn Adams, Clerk to the Governors, on 01483 760943. Further details of the post together with an application pack can be downloaded from this website. Please ensure your response includes a covering letter, CV and completed application form. If you have any queries, please contact Dawn Adams:  clerk@st-andrews.woking.sch.uk

Closing date for applications: Monday 27th January 2020. Initial interviews will take place on Tuesday 4th February 2020.
