About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Headteacher will be accountable for all aspects of educational and operational performance within the school. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead a specialist setting supporting children and young people with EHCPs, ensuring every learner receives the personalised support they need to succeed.
You will:
Develop and deliver a clear vision and strategic direction for the school.
Lead and inspire a high-performing team across education, therapy, care and support services.
Drive continuous school improvement, maintaining ambitious standards and striving for excellence.
Ensure outstanding safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
Build strong relationships with families, Local Authorities, and external partners.
Oversee financial performance, budget management, and sustainable school growth.
Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Support students to achieve positive outcomes and successful transitions into further education, training, employment, and adulthood.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced senior leader who combines strategic thinking with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Essential Experience and Skills
Significant experience within a specialist education setting.
Experience as a Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, Acting Headteacher, or equivalent senior leadership role.
Experience teaching and supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN.
A strong track record of school improvement, self-evaluation, and raising student achievement.
Experience leading curriculum development and assessment strategies.
Knowledge of EHCPs, individualised learning approaches, and inclusive educational practice.
Understanding of school budgets and resource management.
Experience of OFSTED preparation, inspections, and post-inspection action planning.
Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and educational regulations.
Good ICT and organisational skills.
Qualifications
NPQH qualification or willingness to work towards achieving it.
