Brooksby Melton College is a specialist vocational Further and Higher Education provider in Leicestershire, spread across two main campuses – one in the heart of the lively market town of Melton Mowbray and the other on an 850-acre estate at Brooksby.

The College received a “Good” Ofsted judgement in 2016 and our objective is to be judged an “Outstanding” College within the next five years. As part of this journey, both our campuses have undergone a £27m redevelopment, bringing new facilities and improved environments for all our students and staff.

The college has seen significant investment in practical and teaching facilities within our departments benefitting from brand new state of the art facilities. We are proud of the fact that our student achievement is the highest in the East Midlands for 16-18 year olds across all levels and is the 4th highest for level 3 provision.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Health and Safety Co-ordinator responsible for the development of all health and safety management systems to ensure compliance with current legislation and approved code of practices. The post will also provide advice, support and guidance for college staff to assist them in maintaining these standards and to embed the ‘safe’ learner experience. We are looking for a qualified Health and Safety professional who can make use of their experience and knowledge in a similar environment to lead, motivate and influence others at both operational and strategic levels within the college. You should be able to demonstrate how you will deliver improved health and safety performance / management. A requirement of the role is to provide Health and Safety training to internal and external customers and the post holder will be expected to work across all College campuses.

You will be self-motivated, ambitious, enthusiastic, confident and proactive with excellent communication skills. You will have the confidence to work within a client facing role and will have the ability to work under pressure within a performance driven environment.

You will be disciplined with a “right first time” work ethic with regard to maintaining personnel records and administration, and able to work autonomously, setting personal deadlines and goals; you will be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office programmes and be able to prepare accurate and incisive management reports and commentary.

Our benefits include:

· Pension

· Generous Holidays

· Additional College Discretionary Closure Days

· CPD and Training

· Occupational Health Support
