Health and Safety Coordinator

Responsible to:      Director of Operations

Hours of work:       Full time, 37.5 hours (8.30 am – 5.00 pm Monday – Friday)

Salary:                  c35-40k- depending on experience and qualifications

St Peter’s School, York, is a dynamic, forward-looking HMC independent school for day and boarding pupils based a few minutes’ walk from the historic centre of York.  

This an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated health and safety specialist to join our operations team. The Health and Safety Co-ordinator will oversee and coordinate health and safety at the school so that all regulatory and legislative requirements are met. To ensure that a health and safety culture continues to grow and is sustained organically, the Health and Safety Co-ordinator must be able to form good working relationships with colleagues so that they can understand and be motivated to carry out their Health & Safety responsibilities as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a previous role managing health and safety in an organisation of more than 100 employees together with a NEBOSH Diploma, related degree or other health and safety qualification equivalent to European Qualification Framework (EQF) Level 6.
