Nelson and Colne College, an Outstanding education provider with excellent facilities and unparalleled staff benefits, are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Health and Social Care Lecturer (Health) to join their team. 

The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher, focused on student progress and supporting students into high quality educational and work based destinations. The ideal candidate will plan and prepare high quality teaching and learning and will be responsible for the development and sharing of resources for the course/subject. 

Main duties include:

· Teaching within the Health and Social Care team on a range of programmes in Health, delivering effective learning for students (810 hours per annum)

· Planning, preparing and delivering high quality teaching and learning

· Complete required assessment duties in relation to student assignments

· Maintain comprehensive, up to date, records and provide information as requested using College systems to track and communicate student progress

· Be responsible for the appropriate administration of exam entries and liaise with external awarding bodies as appropriate

The ideal candidate will have:

· A degree in a  Health related subject area

· Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment

· Successful teaching experience in Health and Social Care 

· Recent industrial experience in the Health Sector (desirable)

· Experience of delivering on Access programmes (desirable)

· Experience of delivering on Higher Education programmes (desirable)

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
