Salary: £20,000 to £21,600 p.a. (full time equivalent £23,111 to £24,960) dependant on qualifications, skills and experience

PUPIL HEALTH AND WELLBING DEPARTMENT

The School employs specialist medical, counselling and pastoral staff to promote the health and wellbeing of our pupils. These colleagues work closely with the Pastoral and Safeguarding teams of teaching staff in each of our schools so that we can offer the highest quality of care for pupils and appropriate advice and support for families, in conjunction with external agencies and safeguarding partners. 

The School’s Safeguarding and Pastoral Care teams include the Senior Leadership teams in the Pre-Prep and Junior Schools and, in the Senior School, the Heads of Lower School, Middle School and Sixth Form, in addition to the School Chaplain, Heads of House and Heads of Year. Other key senior staff in the Senior School include the Deputy Head (Pupils’ Personal Development and Employability), the Deputy Head (Academic), and the SEND Department.  

THE ROLE

The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will work in the School Medical Centre as part of the Wellbeing Team and will play an important role in triaging and assessing pupil’s needs with onward referral to the School Nurses or Wellbeing Practitioner as appropriate. They will work closely with the School Nurses and key members of the Wellbeing Team to support pupils with their physical and emotional wellbeing. The medical team, including the HCA report to the Director of Pupil Wellbeing but the HCA will be guided by the School Nurses on their daily tasks. The HCA will work closely with the School Nurses to maintain the medical administrative tasks and ensure pupil medical records are up to date. In addition, they will liaise with parents and professionals where needed and appropriate.
