This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Engagement Team as part of the wider DANCOP programme.
The post has arisen as part of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Collaborative Outreach Programme as part of the OFS funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme. NCOP aims to identify and address issues around progression into Higher Education. In particular, it seeks to undertake engagement activity in specific local areas where HE participation is low overall and lower than expected given GCSE attainment levels. As such we are now looking for a Higher Education Officer to join the Chesterfield College DANCOP team.
The Higher Education Officer role aims to raise awareness of higher education study and assist young people to overcome particular barriers or disadvantage to engage with higher education. You should have the ability work with young people and adults, both internally at Chesterfield College and externally at local Secondary schools, advising them on Higher Education pathways. You will assist with the designing and delivering of activities and events for young people in education settings, ideally focused on raising aspirations to Higher Education. You will work with targeted groups of young people in local schools and will need to ensure provision is relevant, monitored and evaluated. You will be required to work closely with the team and school staff to ensure targeted provision is relevant and successfully delivered, monitored and evaluated.
You must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle as this role requires you to undertake substantial travel. In addition, you will need to be highly flexible as there is an element of working outside of normal office hours (evenings and occasional weekends).
