We are seeking a skilled and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team.

The Role

This is a key role within our staff team, combining whole-class cover responsibilities with leadership and delivery of targeted interventions.

As an HLTA, you will:

• Lead whole class learning during teacher absence, ensuring high expectations for behaviour and progress

• Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality intervention programmes to support pupils’ learning and progress

• Work closely with teachers and leaders to identify gaps in learning and respond effectively

• Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, to overcome barriers to learning

• Monitor and track pupil progress within intervention groups

• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and purposeful learning environment across the school

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualified HLTA (or holds an equivalent Level 4 qualification or above)

• Experienced in working within a primary school setting

• Confident in leading whole class teaching and managing behaviour effectively

• Skilled in delivering impactful interventions that accelerate progress

• Knowledgeable about supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND

• An excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with pupils and staff

• Flexible, proactive and reflective in their practice
