Cuddington Croft Primary School is looking to appoint a proactive, inspiring and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school.


Your Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are Higher Level Teaching Assistants or Cover Supervisors. The role will require an Individual who is a dedicated and enthusiastic professional who will play a key role in delivering high quality teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be working five afternoons per week and will be required to cover classes across the school to allow teachers to be released for PPA time/Leadership time.

The position will play an integral role in the behaviour, communication, social and emotional development of children and actively assist our teachers through delivering high quality lessons for our children.

You will be a valued member of our team - a team of dynamic and dedicated individuals, aspiring to improve the educational outcomes of children in our care.

Cuddington Croft is a two-form entry primary school, located at Cheam, Surrey, with just under 500 children aged 3 - 11. What we are looking for

You will be:

  • An effective communicator
  • Experienced in teaching whole classes across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
  • Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the children that you are supporting
  • Experienced in regularly teaching a sequence of lessons to whole classes using a variety of teaching strategies
  • Able to promote high standards of behaviour and a good work ethos
  • Able to utilise a variety of teaching strategies to engage and support children in their learning
  • Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when faced with a variety of different situations
  • Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team
  • Experienced in how to observe and assess progression and attainment in order to give feedback to staff

The Details

Start date: ASAP

Salary: FTE £22,500 - £31,000

Pro Rata: £6,652 - £9,165

Hours of work: 12.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

About Cuddington Croft Primary School

Cuddington Croft is an all-through 2 Form Surrey Primary School for children aged 3-11 years, including the Nursery Unit. The school is situated in West Drive, Cheam, within a pleasant, residential area in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell. We are significantly oversubscribed due to the high standards our children achieve, the first-rate staff team, and very good OFSTED reports. The school is noted for its excellent SATs results, and regularly features in the top 10 Surrey Primary Schools, and occasionally in the top 200 schools within the country. The majority of children significantly exceed the nationally expected grades in both key stage 1 & 2.
