Job overview
We are looking for a dedicated HTLA to support the learning of our SEND students and specialising in working with students with ASD, both in and out of the classroom. Caldew is a resourced provision for Autism and the HLTA appointed will be key in advising teachers and support staff on best practice and bespoke strategies for individual students.
Students supported by the SEND department demonstrate a wide range of learning difficulties including ASD and you will be working across the range, from pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan with specific or severe learning difficulties to pupils with minor or temporary access difficulties. You may work extensively on a one-to-one basis or within a class room setting. You may work as part of a multi-agency team as well as closely with family and carers.
We pride ourselves on offering opportunities to develop skills and knowledge as well as encouraging that drive for excellence, as such ongoing CPD will be available.

Caldew School is a popular, rural 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated south of the city of Carlisle with a catchment area that extends to the fringe of the Lake District. We have 1000 pupils on roll including Sixth Form.
