About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Cover Supervisor to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences, supporting pupils with additional needs, and helping to create a positive, engaging learning environment where every child can achieve their potential.
Working closely with teachers and the wider school team, you'll deliver planned lessons during teacher absence, provide targeted interventions, and support pupils both in and outside the classroom.
What you will bring
Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to help pupils achieve their individual learning goals.
Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND.
Monitor, record and report on pupil progress.
Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Support educational visits, enrichment activities and school events where appropriate.
Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote the wellbeing and development of every pupil.
The role may involve providing comprehensive personal care, including assisting with toileting and changing nappies, to ensure the comfort, dignity and wellbeing of the pupils we support.
What you'll bring
HLTA status or equivalent experience (desirable).
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
Confidence leading whole-class learning in the absence of a teacher.
The ability to motivate, engage and inspire pupils.
Patience, resilience and a positive, flexible approach.
A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
